2019 Officer Elections | 3.29.19
One of the perks about being an AO member is you get to participate and vote in local AO chapter elections. AO Austin will be conducting its biennial leadership election on March 29th, 2019 - the last Friday in March.
This election is open to our current and active AO Austin members only.
In the event we have more than one member running for the same position, we will be conducting an online election for our members to cast their vote.
AO Austin is provided an updated member list from National and we will have to go off of the most current list that is provided to us for eligibility. We will send online ballots to the email addresses that are on our list. Please make sure your email address is current or updated.
If you need to renew or transfer your membership to AO Austin to vote, please do so ASAP. We outline how to transfer your membership below.
The following positions will open and will be held for two terms (two years):
- Vice President
In order to be nominated, the nominee must be an active member of AO Austin. You can nominate yourself or you can nominate another AO Austin member. Candidates must also be over the age of 21 and reside in the Austin area.
If a member is nominated by another member, we reach out to them and they can either accept or decline the nomination.
Nominations must be submitted in writing and be sent to OutlawsAustin@gmail.com. The deadline to submit a nomination is 12:00 pm (noon) Central Time, March 22nd, 2019. Feel free to include a small bio as well as your photo as we will include these in the candidate announcement as well as on the ballot.
We will announce the candidates and their running positions on the evening of March 22nd, 2019 on social media, our newsletter, and on our site.
If there is only one candidate for each position, we will forego the voting process and announce the official officers for the 2019 Biennial Officer Election.
If we have more that one candidate running for a specific officer position, we will begin the voting process. AO Austin members will be sent an online ballot (yep it's 2019 and we're doing it online) for you to cast your vote. The voting ballot will be sent out on March 27th, 2019 and voting will be closed on March 29th, 2019 at 11:59pm Central Time.
If you are needing to transfer your membership to AO Austin from another chapter, you can do so by following one of these steps:
- If you were a member prior to 2017, you need to contact National at Info@TheAmericanOutlaws.com and request the change.
- If you joined in 2017 or later, login to https://www.theamericanoutlaws.com/ and navigate to your dashboard. Under 'chapter details', click on edit and change to AO Austin.
